Community Connections

Il Gelato di Carlotta believes very strongly that the basis of any responsible business is to be a part of the local landscape, and get involved with local groups and events. See our? photo gallery below.

We have helped raise money for groups such as Wells of Hope (which digs wells in Guatemala), Willowbank School of Restoration, every year we help the Rotary Club raise funds for a local hospice in Niagara-on-the-Lake and fund its other projects, and local schools. And all this by offering free our Italian counterpart to traditional and high-calorie, high-fat, preservative and chemical laden North American ice cream. Of course, we mean gelato, made the old fashioned way!

Our Italian-designed gelato cart has also taken part in events such as the well-known local peach festival, Niagara region chamber of commerce exhibitions, winery events, school events, and conservation area associated events.

Last November, we were invited to offer our gelato at the annual convention of the history teachers of Ontario, organized by Explorica. At the world-famous Shaw Theatre Festival, we made a special gelato cake for the opening night for?Italian themed play, The Light in the Piazza.

We were also honoured with a plaque making Il Gelato di Carlotta a Defender of the Town because we were one of the contributors towards the War of 1812 commemoration.

Tony Chisholm of the War of 1812 Commemoration Committee presents Carlotta Cattani and Zuhair (Kash) Kashmeri with a Defender of the Town Plaque. (Published in Metroland’s Town Crier Weekly in December 2014.)

WRITE TO US IF YOU HAVE AN EVENT WHERE WE CAN BE OF HELP.
